Steel Pipe Production Process
The manufacturing process of steel pipe mainly includes the following steps:
Raw material preparation: Select steel plates or steel billets that meet the requirements as raw materials.
Heating and perforation (applicable to seamless steel pipes): The steel billet is heated to a high temperature and then perforated by a perforator to form a tube billet.
Rolling and drawing: The tube billet is rolled into a steel pipe with the required diameter and wall thickness by a rolling mill, or the tube diameter is further reduced by a cold drawing process.
Welding (applicable to welded steel pipes): After the steel plate or steel strip is curled and formed, it is welded into a steel pipe by arc welding, submerged arc welding or resistance welding.
Heat treatment: In order to improve the mechanical properties of the steel pipe, it is subjected to heat treatment such as annealing, quenching and tempering.
Surface treatment: In order to improve the corrosion resistance of the steel pipe, surface treatment such as galvanizing, painting, phosphating, etc. can be carried out.
