ASTM A606 Type 2 Weathering Steel Plate is a weathering steel designed for use in structural and architectural applications exposed to the atmosphere. It improves weathering resistance by adding alloying elements to the steel, making it perform well in harsh environments.
ASTM A606 Type 2 Performance Characteristics:
High Strength: ASTM A606 Type 2 steel plate has high tensile strength and yield strength, which can meet the strength requirements of various structural parts.
Corrosion Resistance: The steel plate has enhanced atmospheric corrosion resistance and can be used for a long time in various natural environments without additional anti-corrosion treatment. Its corrosion resistance mainly comes from the dense oxide layer naturally formed on the surface of the steel plate, which can protect the inside of the steel plate from corrosion.
Alloying Elements: According to the ASTM A606 standard, the copper content of Type 2 steel plate is a minimum of 0.20% based on casting or thermal analysis (the copper content is a minimum of 0.18% when the product is inspected). The copper element is one of the key factors in enhancing the atmospheric corrosion resistance of steel plates.
