ASTM A335 P5 Seamless Steel Pipe Production Specifications And Methods

Specifications: ASTM A335 P5 steel pipes have a wide range of product specifications, with outer diameters usually ranging from 19.05762mm and wall thicknesses ranging from 2140mm. Common specifications include diameters of 60.3, 73, 88.9, 114.3, 168.3, 219.1, 273.1, 323.9, 355.6, 406.4, 457.2, 508, 559, 610, 660, 711, 762, etc. Other sizes can also be customized according to customer requirements.
Production methods: mainly include hot rolling and cold drawing. The hot rolling process includes heating of round tube billets, piercing, three-roller cross rolling, continuous rolling or extrusion, followed by tube removal, sizing or reducing, cooling, straightening, water pressure testing and flaw detection. The cold drawing process is to carry out multiple cold drawing (cold rolling) such as heading, annealing, pickling, oiling (or copper plating) after heating and piercing. The billet tube is heat treated and straightened, and also undergoes water pressure test and flaw detection before being put into storage.
