Manufacturing Process
ASTM A179 seamless pipes are produced through the following manufacturing processes:
Raw material preparation: Select low-carbon steel billets that meet the standards.
Heating: Heat the billet to a suitable temperature.
Piercing: Use a piercer to make the billet into a hollow rough tube.
Cold drawing: The rough tube is processed to the required size and wall thickness through the cold drawing process.
Heat treatment: Annealing is usually performed to improve the structure and properties of the material.
Inspection: The pipe is subjected to multiple inspections such as chemical composition analysis, mechanical property testing, dimensional tolerance inspection, and non-destructive testing to ensure that the product meets the standard requirements.
